BOULDER, CO- The University of Colorado Boulder released a study last week that found that over 500,000,000 gallons of water are lost every year to poop splashes. The project’s top researcher, Dr. Dung said “While we were expecting to find that some water was wasted by fecal matter splashing in toilets, we did not expect the volume to be 500,000,000 gallons per year.” Following the results of this study, a new group called “Mom’s Against Wasteful Feces Splashes” has released guidelines regarding how to minimize the amount of water people waste when pooping. One guideline reads “try to put your butt as far into the toilet as you can, emerging it in the toilet water if possible.”
